This spring’s Great Plains Nomads are Billy, Kirstin, and Travis! Together they are an unstoppable team that will be traveling the Central United States in support of the North Korean people. Be on the lookout for their presentations where they’ll be talking about the incredible changes already happening in North Korea and how we can help accelerate that change. They will also introduce our brand new initiative to give everyone the opportunity to send a message of support to the North Korean people. Take a minute to get to know them before we launch tour:
Billy is hitting the road again this spring for his second tour. Don’t let his giant stature intimidate you; he’s a gentleman who loves food and the warm glow of a fire. Billy thrives on adventure, from scaling mountains in the American West to exploring his second home, the island nation of Taiwan.
Kirstin left her small town in Southern Ontario to come to LiNK straight after graduating high school. Before applying to intern at LiNK, Kirstin entered poetry slams and joined a youth spoken word team, which both improved her public speaking and spurred her interest in global issues. Her love of travel and volunteer experience have also helped prepare her for this opportunity. Someday, she hopes to have a career working in this field.
Travis graduated from University of Maryland Baltimore County with a degree in sociology and holds a certificate in geospatial intelligence from Pennsylvania State University. He first got involved with LiNK after watching the play Yoduk Story in 2006. He is excited to be in California after leaving the freezing Maryland weather, and is looking forward to exploring the West Coast after seeing the Great Plains as a Nomad.
Add your voice to our collective message of support to the North Korean people this spring.
