Media & Communications Intern | South Korea

LiNK’s mission requires that we have strong communication strategies and practices. We must develop effective communication methods to engage with the local communities, supporters, and the global audience. The Media & Comms Intern will help our Seoul Office kickstart our efforts to grow the LiNK Movement in South Korea through online and offline strategies.

Responsibilities

    • Community Engagement
      • Manage LiNK ROK’s general inquiry account
      • Contribute to content creation for social media
      • Provide logistical support for LiNK events and programs
      • Work with students to activate them as agents of change
    • Communications
      • Assist with LiNK media production
      • Develop Korean language messaging/communication strategies
      • Participate in relevant conferences and meetings
      • Conduct news and media monitoring
      • Translation of documents and interviews with North Koreans (Korean – English)

Qualifications

    • Demonstrable interest in North Korean issues
    • Passion for the mission and vision of LiNK
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Korean, and fluency in English
    • Extremely organized and detail-oriented
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
    • Basic analytical and research skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft suite and Google apps  
    • Ability to work in a multi-cultural team
    • Ability to work well independently and also within a team (should be able to work effectively with minimal supervision)

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience in videography, photography, graphic design and social media management
    • Experience with event coordination
    • Proficiency in strategic communications / marketing
    • Network of relevant contacts

Internship details
The internship is being offered as an unpaid, full-time internship. Part-time commitments may be negotiable depending on the specific position and organizational needs. To be eligible, you must be at least 18 years old. Although the internship is unpaid, we instead offer transportation stipends and will be more than happy to help you earn school credit.
