We started our Refugee Rescues Program in 2010. In the first year, 22 North Korean refugees reached freedom through our network. The program has grown exponentially since then and we’re thrilled that 322 North Korean refugees now live in freedom because people just like you stepped up to fundraise and/or donate.
Here are a few of the over 100 North Korean refugees who reached freedom last year:

Sae Won escaped North Korea with a desire to see the outside world and is now living a free life thanks to a rescue.

After enlisting in the military, Min Hyuk discovered it was in shambles. Soldiers had to resort to foraging and stealing farm animals to survive. Min Hyuk escaped to avoid persecution and was rescued.

Jung Ha was rescued with her mother, who spent nearly 3 years hiding in China.

We asked you to help us raise $600,000 last year so we can complete 200 rescues in 2015. We have nearly reached that goal thanks to fundraisers and donors from all over the world.
This year, our goal is to raise the funds to provide rescues and resettlement assistance to 300 people in 2016. This is our biggest goal yet, which is why we are announcing it EARLY. We want to give you a chance to start your new Rescue Campaign NOW so that you have the rest of the year to reach your goal—GO BIG!
If you have fundraised for rescues in the past, you know what to do. If not, this is the year to start! We need everyone to pitch in to help as many people as possible reach freedom.
