JOSEPH KIM’S STORY

Joseph was one of the first North Korean refugees we helped reach freedom and safety. Today he’s a published author, has spoken at the United Nations, and shared his story from the TED stage. He is a reminder of the incredible resilience and potential of the North Korean people.

He is now studying international relations in college.

He received an educational grant through our Empowerment Programs to allow him to focus on his studies.
